2006 Reunion
Like the 1996 Reunion, the 2006 Reunion was a multi-day large scale event complete with catered meals and a large tent. Thanks to Peter McGovern who ran the WMS web page until 2014, there is a large amount of information ( [click] invitation1, invitation2, attendees list, final report, and several collections of photos) about the event. Problems began when Bill Dobbs refused to work with other alums eager to repeat the 1996 success. There were issues with holding the Reunion September 8 – 10th when many families with children were going back to school, others felt the cost too high, for some reason Heinz declined to attend, and there was threat of the 1970’s alums having a separate gathering. Out reach to alums was split between those with email and those with snail-mail / phone. There were fractious divides within the organizers as well, but in the end, the event came together with 140+ attending, and they were able to cover all the costs.
