Parnell Hall Remembered
Parnee graduated Windsor in 1962. I think he went there for five years. We were in the same graduating class and we had a number of classes together.
Our senior year, Parnee and his bridge partner, Howard Rock, had a year-long bridge competition because we had first period free. I played with my roommate and bridge partner, Sam Abram. On occasion, we would play on a Saturday nite at the Halls’ home. Sam and I won and Parnee and Howard had to buy us a meal at the local Friendly.
Parnee was a man of many talents. He was a very good athlete in many sports. He played guitar and sang. He wrote many books, won some awards and a couple of his books were made into movies. I only saw Parnee a couple of times after we graduated when I was in New York on business.
Very sad to hear about his passing. I also adored his parents who I had as English teachers. Both had attended U.C.L.A. which I later attend for Law School. Parnee was a lot of what Windsor was about because he had grown up at Windsor. Condolences to Terry and Parnee’s other family members.
Wishing better times for all in 2021.
