1968 Year Book (L’allegro)

A traditional style yearbook, approximately 120 pages, 8.5 x 11 on matte coated 80 lb white, with hardbound (sewn signature) Yellow linen cloth cover that is Hot stamped on front and spine only with black foil. Find credits given to the Yearbook committee on page 118. No message from Gertrude, however a nice 1968 year in review by Heinz, but very little text … mostly student and other poems. In this year there were numerous photographers, but photos are not identified. Faculty is featured first, Dorm photos (no captions) lots of activities and sports, May Fair, Graduation, Seniors followed by Yearbook Committee and sponsors.

Highlights: the American cultural renaissance is in progress, Windsor is showing signs of change with male long hair, mini skirts, etc. Students are still dressing for dinner which is followed by Assembly down at the Theater. Farful, the infamous school dog, makes an appearance on page 62. As part of Graduation Larry Abrams, seen throughout the yearbook in 1800s period attire, had found the original Winthrop estate grounds blueprints and reactivated most of the numerous fountains. Unfortunately there are no pictures or video, which is odd because there are several pages from Graduation … not one fountain picture! However for me, your Curator, I can personally attest to the amazing beauty and magnificence of the once in a Windsor experience.
