2025 Reunion “Would that I were there”
While it is true that what was most important about our beloved school were the people we shared our youth with, there remains the place of it, a place we can still visit and remember those times we shared, and if we are truly lucky, these some 50 years gone by, share it with them again if only for an afternoon. Windsor Reunions are rare and precious experiences, so this last one (perhaps our last one) on September 13, 2025 was perhaps both beautiful and bittersweet as we celebrated 50th wedding of two couples who found each other here in Lenox, and the 50th year of the passing of our place there, the last home of Max and Gertrud Bondy’s experiment in education and community we all knew as Windsor Mountain School. So it is there, on the path to theater among firs and pines you will find a tribute to us the people of Windsor inviting you to stop and set awhile, and remember.
In the words of our most beloved student, teacher, headmaster, and icon, Maurice Eldridge who could not attend shared with us his thoughts: “Would that I were there … Windsor was always dedicated to us students, and later us staff as well; Still always present in our lives most positively from my perspective. Love and Light to All.”
Maurice ’57 and one time Teacher there, Headmaster for a period. Alumnus of course.“
Until Another Reunion (hopefully) … be well!
